A Preliminary Study and Predictions till 2020

USA voted for independence on a Tuesday, July 2, 1776, at 4:48:46 PM, in Philadelphia, and it seems that all important dates regarding USA elections are also on Tuesdays, which is a day ruled by Mars, L6 (enemies, opponents, competitors, confrontation, legal dispute, elections) in the USA Independence chart posted in http://satva.blogspot.com/2007/12/united-states-of-america-birth-of-great.html and used for this preliminary study. As Election Day is a Tuesday after the first Monday in November, it happens that Transit Sun is always in a close harmonious trine aspect with Natal Sun, general significator of politicians and particular significator of the Republican Party. This is a very important aspect and one of the reasons why Republicans get elected more often than Democrats.

Hypotheses:

1) Sun, Moon, Mars and Jupiter, their preceptor, represent the Republicans.

As every planet also carries with him the qualities of the planets placed in his own sign(s), the Moon, being dispositor of Mercury and Rahu, also carries some Democrat qualities.

2) Saturn, Mercury, Rahu, Ketu and Venus, their preceptor, represent the Democrats.
However, as the Nodes assume the nature of the planet(s) in conjunction with them, and/or aspecting them, and/or disposing them, by this order, Ketu, being conjunct with Na Moon, and receiving ¾ aspect from Na Sun & Na Jupiter, also carries Republican qualities. Saturn, being dispositor of the Moon and Ketu, and Venus, being dispositor of Mars, carry with them also some Republican tendencies.

3) As any Election is a FIGHT, the support of ENERGY, Mars and/or Ketu (like Mars, the Flag), and LUCK, Jupiter, over the significators of each party (Saturn for the Democrats & Jupiter for the Republicans, as the Sun is always placed in H12, in a harmonious trine aspect with natal Sun) is important to WIN, but the influence of Venus, L12 in D1 & D9 and L1 in D12 (losses), as well as the “frozen” influence of Saturn over the significators will bring them DEFEAT. The rule for Election Day is from 1845, so our study begins with the 1848 Elections, looking to the transit placement and relative strength of Jupiter and Saturn.

The USA Independence chart points to a victory of Democrats in 2008 and 2020, and a victory of Republicans in 2012 and 2016.

U.S.A. – Voting for Independence

In 2004, after extensive research, I realized that the historical records, both of the Continental Congress and local Philadelphia newspapers, clearly confirm that American Independence was decided by the Congressional afternoon[2] vote in favor of the Lee resolution on July 2, 1776 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

I boiled down to three possible sidereal rising signs and then proceeded to choose the one I have based on countless examples that to this day, continue to be spot on, based not only on the transits (to ONE degree) but on the planetary periods used in Jyotish[3].

To ascertain the sidereal rising degree, I checked more than two hundred events that have occurred since 1776, and the precise time that USA have assumed independence is 04:48:46 PM, LMT, on July 2, 1776, in Philadelphia, PA, which gives a rising degree of 15º 30’ 53’’ in Scorpio constellation, as the Jyotish horoscope[4] indicates:

Considering the existing Lahiri ayanamsha[5] of 20º 44’ 00’’, the equivalent tropical rising degree is 06º 14’ 53’’ in Sagittarius sign:
